29 Sep - Autocross Rnd 3 Grass

Description: 29 Sep - Autocross Rnd 3 Grass

Date: 29/09/2019

Our penultimate event for the season was a grass autocross at Kirwee. It was a new paddock so it was a fresh track, ready for some dirt slinging fun.

What an awesome day racing around a paddock! Monster 48 driver field with the usual fast guns and plenty of first time competitors. Great to see how much rallying is a family sport with proud parents, daughters, sons, partners, siblings and mates all giving it a go.

Congratulations to Matt McGlinchey WRX 1st overall at the Kirwee Grass Autocross today. Garet Thomas WRX taking 2nd place by only 0.09 seconds from father in-law Dave Ollis also in a WRX.

Well done to our class winners: 0-1300cc Class 1 Karl Celeste Mini 1301-1600cc Class 2 David Fahey Escort 1601+cc Class 3 Sean Sands Escort 4WD Class 4 James Macdonald WRX Road car (no rally tyres) Class 5 Gavin Williams CRX Well done to all involved. Huge team effort to make the day run so smoothly.

Huge thanks to Allan Pritchard from River Retreat Photography. He even helps setup at events. Legend.
